NEWS RELEASE
SAULT THEATRE WORKSHOP
*************************
After a wildly successful run, the cast and crew of the Sault Theatre Workshop’s production Frozen are getting ready to hit the road. In one week’s time, they will pack the vans and head to Sudbury for the QUONTA Drama Festival 2016.
A competitive festival, QUONTA brings together Northern Ontario’s best local theatre companies for a five days of adjudicated performances featuring the best of what Northern Ontario has to offer.
In her Sault Star review of the production, reviewer Robin Waples writes “Director Randi Mraud offers a production that smartly allows the actors to carry the weight of this grisly subject matter through language and emotion, and this cast propels the piece way beyond expectation. In fact, it is one of the strongest shows the theatre group has staged in a long while… There’s no way the Workshop will be left out in the cold.” (Sault Star, 2016-03-02)
With such a rave response to their work, the cast and crew of Frozen are eager to join in the competition at QUONTA. But they need some help to get there.
A pub fundraiser will be held this Friday, March 11 at the Sault Theatre Workshop, starting at 8 p.m.
The night includes a concert followed by karaoke; a cash bar will be open. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 705-943-6335.
