Of Matter "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

Trevor Fielder spent most of his childhood doing exactly that studying flowers how they grow, how they unfurl, how they move with one another, how they impact people and how they survive. Given a packet of Marigold seeds at the age of 3 he began his first garden. One small garden grew into many, neighbors in the small community would give Trevor bouquets of fresh cut flowers that he would then arrange. His family understood the importance of his creative energy and helped him to come to his full potential. He began designing floral arrangements at the age of 12, by 14 he had won his first of many awards.
Trevor was constantly investigating nature and how we interact with it. He was inspired by the raw matter around him and how it can be contorted to become a design element.
His formal training has taken him around the world. At Seneca College he studied Floral Design and he has studied with European Floral Masters, his education is a life long journey. Trevor described that one of the most important aspects to him are understanding others and their interpretations of flowers and matter.
Geography has a lot to do with how we look at the world, however flowers grow all over the world and through flowers and matter we can express a multitude of feelings that transcend language.
“Its not about winning awards its about being in a place where you can experience it and its impact on those around you...its about an expression of your soul” ~ Trevor Fielder
You can experience Trevor’s expression of matter at Loplops with his Floral Exhibition this month. The opening reception will take place on October 13th at 7:00pm.
