On Thursday, Nov. 18, spend a night out with friends while enjoying wine, appetizers, and some original artwork by local artist Amy Williams.

“Wine, Apps & Art with Amy” will be an art exhibit held at Tempo Modern Mediterranean located inside the Marconi Cultural Event Centre.

Williams is a mom of four and has been a stay-at-home mom and medical caregiver for her children for the last few years.

Now Williams is taking the time to pursue her passion for art and has been creating paintings that showcase the Sault Ste. Marie area. She specializes in watercolour, acrylic and oil painting.

“When my kids started school I wanted to do something from home that would allow me the flexibility to still look after my kids,” Williams said.

“I've always loved art but never thought it was something I could make a living from. It was always just a hobby,” she said.

The event will start at 6 p.m. at Tempo. Tickets are $55 each and include appetizers and a glass of wine. Tickets can be purchased online.

“It will be a fun, casual night out where people can have some great appetizers and check out the exhibit,” she said.

Williams will have approximately 40 pieces of art on display. All of the art will be for sale.

“I am so excited for the event. This is what dreams are made of, people coming to see your work while having a great night out with their friends,” Williams said. “I'm looking forward to showcasing what I’ve been working so hard on and connecting with people.”
