Come downtown Thursday night for season's final moonlight shopping event

Queen Street will be closed to vehicles starting at 4 p.m.

The Sault Ste. Marie Downtown Association is holding Last Minute! Moonlight, the final event of the 2023 winter season.

It's a last chance for shopping, sales, promotions, activities, s’mores, hot chocolate, entertainment, and joy, according to a news release.

The event will take place Dec. 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Queen Street.

The road closure will begin after 2 p.m. and will be fully closed to vehicles by 4 p.m., from Pim to Dennis streets. Traffic will be able to travel north and south between blocks (excluding Pilgrim, Towers, Hynes, and March). Roads will reopen to vehicles after midnight.

The Soo Market will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. and The Grand Theatre (641 Queen Street East) will be hosting a Christmas marketplace. Skating and entertainment from Ben R. McMullin and Kiweden Student Choirs, as well as local singer-songwriter Matthew James, will be at the plaza.
