Come celebrate Latin American heritage in the Sault

Free community event takes place Saturday at Moose Lodge

The Latino Arts Centre Advancing Sociocultural Awareness – also known as La Casa SSM – is inviting everyone to a community event this weekend in a “joyous celebration” of Latin American heritage.

The event takes place this Saturday, June 29 at the Moose Lodge, 543 Trunk Rd. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

The celebration will feature Angela Trudeau, First Nations representative, Lisa Vezeau-Allen, Ward 2 city councillor as well as seven performances from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico, event organizers said in a news release.

The festivities kick off with opening ceremonies and special guests at 4 p.m., followed by performances at 4:45 p.m.

“Be ready to hit the dance floor at 5:30 p.m. for an evening filled with rhythm and joy!” La Casa added.

The event is free and open to everyone.

“Light refreshments will be available for sale, so please bring cash,” La Casa said. “All proceeds will go towards future community events, ensuring we can continue celebrating and enriching our diverse cultural tapestry.

“Join us, connect, and celebrate with us at La Casa Community Event. We can’t wait to see you there!”
