Are you a Saultite living in Toronto pining for some Northern Ontario landscape?

Would you be interested in winning a free trip home?

Coconut Hero may be the answer you're looking for.

Filmed in Sault Ste. Marie in the fall of 2014, Coconut Hero is set to begin a two-week run at Toronto's Carlton Cinema this Friday, March 18.

Chloe Perelgut, social media representative for the film, told SooToday that director Florian Cossen is a "huge fan of Northern Ontario" and that he selected specific shooting locations in Sault Ste. Marie and Geraldton for this reason.

"Northern Ontario is like it’s own character in our story," Perelgut said.

As a demonstration of Cossen's affection for our region, movie-goers for the Toronto screenings are being offered a 2-for-1 ticket deal when they request the 'Northern Special'.

In addition, ticket-holders will be entered into a draw for an all-expense-paid weekend getaway for two to Sault Ste. Marie.

The prize package includes dinner at Antico Ristoranté, owned and operated by Chef Arturo Comegna; two nights accommodations; rental car; and round trip travel from Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport.

The contest is open to Toronto residents only.

The eligibility period closes at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 with one lucky winner being drawn at random on Friday, April 1.

Full contest details can be found here.

Coconut Hero celebrated its Canadian screen premiere in Sault Ste. Marie during the Shadows of the Mind Film Festival on Saturday, February 27.

If you missed this screening or are unable to attend one of the Toronto dates, Perelgut said Coconut Hero will be launched on a variety of Video On Demand platforms starting April 1, 2016.

About Coconut Hero

This quirky dramedy follows Mike Tyson (Alex Ozerov) - not THAT Mike Tyson - a 16-year-old boy from middle-of-nowhere-Canada who wants out of his crappy life - permanently!

Spending his time devising ways to do himself in, he considers the fatal brain tumour in his head as a godsend.

That changes when he meets a girl and falls in love for the first time, without even knowing what love is.
