Circus elephant entertains Essar Centre audience (15 photos)

But it wasn't really an elephant

Despite the City of Sault Ste. Marie having a by-law prohibiting exotic animal acts within the city, the Super Circus Spectacular at the Essar Centre Friday evening featured a very entertaining elephant.

Okay, it was just a tiny elephant.

Okay, it wasn’t really an elephant at all.

It was, in fact, a toy poodle in an elephant costume.

A very talented, obedient, and funny pink toy poodle in an elephant costume.

It was quite adorable.

The two-hour three-ring showcase from Sarasota, Florida also featured ponies and horses, aerialists, acrobats, motorcycle stunts, dogs, a bit of audience participation, and a lot of clowning around.

It’s Canadian tour continues through Northern Ontario with stops scheduled in Elliot Lake, North Bay, New LIskeard, Timmins, and others before the show heads to Quebec.
