Are you an artist? Help create up to three new murals

The Downtown Association, the City of Sault Ste. Marie and the Local Immigration Partnership are looking for artists to take part in the creation of three new murals in In collaboration with the upcoming VIVID ArtFest.

“The Sault Downtown Association is committed to fostering cultural vibrancy and creating meaningful experiences through placemaking. Artists that participate in the VIVID ArtFest directly enhance the public realm in the downtown, enrich core neighbourhoods through public art installations, and become beacons of inspiration for the community,” said Nicholas Luck, Executive Director of the Sault Downtown Association in a news release.

As part of the project’s commitment to supporting local talent and artists within Northern Ontario, this festival, which runs Sept. 19-21, is specifically seeking applicants from the region, although interested artists from all communities are encouraged to apply.

Marie Arts and Culture lead. "The VIVID Art Project is about storytelling, transforming spaces, and celebrating the spirit of our community. We are pleased to support and grow the creative economy and celebrate diversity in public art and culture in this way.”

Interested artists are encouraged to apply by submitting three portfolio pieces, a resume detailing past works, three references, and a completed registration form.
