Annual Builders Bash supports local affordable housing

Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area is pleased to announce our 4th annual Builders Bash to be held at Grand Gardens North on Nov. 29 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

We know that the most important way for families to gain stability and self-reliance is to own their own homes. Every day, more and more families find themselves in a struggle to keep a decent roof over their heads. Caught in punishing cycles of unpredictable rent increases, overcrowded conditions, or lack of access to land and affordable financing, these families live with a constant burden of uncertainty, stress, and fear. 

Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area (Habitat) knows that safe, decent and affordable home ownership plays an absolutely critical role in helping families to create a new cycle, one filled with possibilities and progress. Affordable home ownership frees families and fosters the skills and confidence they need to invest in themselves and their communities. The outcomes can be long-lasting and life-changing.

Affordable home ownership provides the solid foundation for families to build strength, stability and self-reliance. It’s the platform on which a family lives out today’s realities and prepares for tomorrow’s transformations.

Every Habitat family invests volunteer time and pays an affordable, interest free mortgage. Every Habitat home changes lives: those of the new homeowners and all those who donated, volunteered and offered support.

As we draw closer to the holiday season, Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area is offering yet another opportunity to help us provide safe, decent and affordable housing to those in need across our community.
