SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - Lake Superior State University invites the community for An Evening with the Authors, a dinner and discussion with Upper Peninsula authors, along with the presentation of the first Writing the U.P. Award.

The dinner program, sponsored by LSSU’s Creative Writing program and the U.P. Book Tour, begins at 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, in LSSU’s Walker Cisler Center.

A cash bar and appetizers will be available at 6 p.m., followed by an interview with the authors at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:15 p.m.

The first Writing the U.P. Award will be presented at 8 p.m.

Three U.P. authors will be part of the program, including: Ellen Airgood, author of South of Superior and Prairie Evers; Bonnie Jo Campbell, author of Once Upon a River and Q Road: A Novel; and LSSU alumna Sue Harrison, who wrote the Ivory Carver and Story Teller trilogies.

Books will be available for purchase and signing following the program.

Tickets for the event are $25 each and are available at the door, but reservations are required by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
