LETTER: We've lost our city and we want it back

SooToday received this letter from a frustrated reader upset with inaction of politicians and officials from the prime minister down to local councillors.

Attention:  Police Chief Hugh Stevenson, Mayor Mathew Shoemaker, city councillors, city staff,  MP Terry Sheehan,  MPP Ross Romano, Premier Doug Ford, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

We the taxpayers of Sault Ste Marie, the people that pay your municipal, provincial and federal salaries want our city back.

You politicians sit behind desks – it's time to stand up and fight for us.

What can we do to start protecting ourselves? How many times do you have to get robbed, threatened, vandalized before something happens?

How much money do you have to lose? How much property do you need stolen before something is done? Do concerned citizens stand up and defend themselves?
