LETTER: Ontarians deserve to hear from candidates of ALL registered parties

'The CRTC mandates that broadcasters provide equitable airtime to all parties, yet Ontario’s media is acting like state propagandists, silencing candidates who challenge the status quo,' says Sault Ste Marie's New Blue Party candidate

SooToday received the following letter from Sault Ste Marie's New Blue Party candidate:

🚨 ELECTION INTERFERENCE? 🚨

The legacy media is violating CRTC regulations by refusing to give fair coverage to ALL registered parties in the Ontario election.

📜 This mandate is outlined in Section 6 of the Radio Regulations, 1986, and Section 8 of the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987.

By ignoring non-legacy parties, they are rigging public perception & tampering with democracy.

Yet, legacy party candidates remain silent about this blatant violation. What does that say about their moral character? They gladly take the unfair advantage while denying voters the right to learn about ALL parties and candidates.

The CRTC mandates that broadcasters provide equitable airtime to ALL parties, yet Ontario’s media is acting like state propagandists, silencing candidates who challenge the status quo.

🚫 This isn’t journalism. It’s election manipulation.

As the candidate for the New Blue Party I will say Soo Today has been very fair to me but what frustrates me is that during this election, so called debates where they say all candidates have been contacted I find hard to believe.

All our information is available publicly and yet certain venues say they could not find contact information on all the parties.

The people of Sault Ste. Marie deserve to have access to all the parties platforms and to be able to ask questions in public forums.
