Good morning, Sault Ste. Marie!

Photo submitted by Sylvie Berardelli shows water washing over the boardwalk in the wind on Tuesday.

SooToday meteorologist Jerry Shields says we are likely to see squall lines moving over the city from Lake Superior starting early today.

Surface temperatures of the lake will be a couple of degrees above freezing, so it is unlikely that any wet snow will accumulate as it will quickly melt when the squall lines shift.

We will also see much colder than normal temperatures with daytime highs near +6C. Temperatures will fall to the freezing point in the evening and overnight.
