VON Canada has been pioneering care at home for over 120 years. Today, we are a highly trusted non-profit organization that works with our clients, employees, volunteers and partners to provide innovative clinical, personal and social support to people who want the comfort and peace of mind of living in their own homes and communities.
VON Algoma Site provides many wonderful programs within our area.
The Adult Day Program and its professional staff and volunteers coordinate activities, communal outings and crafts for seniors and adults living with a disability or with Alzheimer's Disease, dementia or cognitive impairment.
Our Home Maintenance Program helps maintain a clean and safe environment for our seniors at home through yard maintenance and snow removal.
Our Hospice Volunteer Visiting Program are a team of specially trained, dedicated volunteers who offer their knowledge, experience and support to help the client and their family through their end-of-life journey.
We also offer Bereavement Services provided by trained volunteers through individual and group peer support.
We strongly believe that clients and their families have the right to make informed decisions about their care. We encourage them to become partners in both its planning and delivery. We ensure that every plan of care we develop responds to the unique needs and concerns of our clients and their families, including personal and cultural values.
We are a trusted registered charity who works hard to raise donations from individuals and corporations. We also receive pay-for-service fees from provincial governments; grants from federal, provincial and municipal governments and from foundations and other charitable organizations; and pay-for-service fees from community partners and recipients.
