The Downtown Association announced today that it has cancelled the 2020 Poutine Feast.
Originally scheduled to take place July 1 to 5, the decision to postpone the popular event was announced in June.
A statement issued by the Downtown Association follows:
After serious consideration and in response to current events, the Downtown Association and the Board of Directors have made the decision to cancel the Poutine Feast Event for the 2020 season. Given the amount of planning and the health and safety requirements required to host this event, it is not possible for us to confidently host this event for 2020.
The Downtown Association understands that many were looking forward to having this event take place but with too many uncertainties and a potential last-minute cancellation entirely possible if we attempted to host in the fall, it could be a costly decision. This decision was not an easy one to make and it comes after careful consideration with our event partners. We are optimistic that we will be able to host Poutine Feast in 2021.
In the meantime, please follow the Downtown Association on our social media pages for updates on how you can support our amazing members who are finding innovative ways to service the community. Patios are still open and there are 8+ great patios to enjoy a snack or a drink downtown.
