Galaxy Cinemas Sault Ste. Marie will open its doors to movie-goers this Friday with reduced capacity and safety measures in place.
Friday's theatrical offering include The Spongebob Movie: Sponge On The Run, Unhinged and a special 10th anniversary screening of Inception.
Sarah Van Lange, executive director of communications, community and social media for Cineplex Inc., tells SooToday that bookings for reserved seating - with physical distancing measures in place - can be completed online at the Cineplex website.
"Our theatres ended up being closed for about four months, and we really used that time to look at all of our buildings and all of our processes at the way the guests interact with our team, they way that they interact with our buildings and the way that everybody interacts with each other," said Sarah Van Lange, executive director of communications, community and social media for Cineplex Inc. "No two of our theatres are actually exactly the same, so we needed that time to really make that when we did reopen our doors, it was safe to do so."
"Our top priority is absolutely the health and safety of our team and of our guests."
Cineplex Inc. initially made the decision to close all of its 165 theatres nationwide in mid-March amid concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
A full list of health and safety measures for guests and employees can be found on the Cineplex website.
