Two COVID-19 testing dates have been set up in Batchewana First Nation next week.

On Dec. 16 and Dec. 19, testing will happen between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The temporary testing site will be set up at the Baawaating Family Health Team office trailer located beside the Batchewana Health and Social Services Building.

Testing will be done by appointment only and must be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling 249-525-8036 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Indigenous individuals over the age of two are eligible to be tested.

Those with or without symptoms can be tested.

This testing is part of a surveillance blitz coordinated by Baawaating Family Health Team clinic staff at the temporary clinic site, supported by Sault Area Hospital Assessment Centre and Batchewana First Nation. A second one is planned in the new year.
