NEWS RELEASE
SAULT STE. MARIE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
*************************
The health, safety, and well-being of our staff, our Chamber members and their employees, and the community are of the utmost importance to the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber will, therefore, be making some changes to its upcoming event schedule and how we work until the public health risk related to COVID-19 reduces.
A number of previously announced Chamber of Commerce events are being suspended or postponed, until the risk of COVID-19 transmissions are behind us.
- Chamber of Commerce Take 5s will be suspended until further notice;
- Previously announced WE-ARE-THE-SOO Expos, including the North of 50 Expo (March 28 and 29) and the Home Décor and Renovation Expo (April 18 and 19) will be rescheduled to later dates;
- The previously-announced Trade Accelerator Program (originally scheduled to start in March) has been rescheduled to June.
The dates for all upcoming Chamber events will be announced on the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce website (www.ssmcoc.com) as they become available.
The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce team is deeply committed to providing the highest levels of service to all of our members. At present, our team will continue to staff our office daily, however, there may be reduced access to certain staff who will be working remotely.
While the Chamber office will continue to be staffed during this time, we do ask members to consider limiting visits to the Chamber office to scheduled meetings. Senior management and the Chamber’s Board of Directors will continue to assess this position based on the best advice of public health officials and partners.
The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce has updated its website to include links to a variety of sources where businesses can find the most up-to-date information on COVID-19 as well as resources that they can adapt for their own use. That information can be found at https://www.ssmcoc.com/covid-19-resources
If you or your employees are experiencing symptoms, we call on you to heed expert advice and not overwhelm our medical system. The COVID-19 self asssement tool can be used if you are experiencing symptoms.
