Algoma Public Health is reporting two new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.
Both cases are from Sault Ste. Marie and area.
Case #139, tested on Jan. 14, and Case #140, tested on Jan. 15, are both from close contact.
Close contact means the person acquired their infection through close contact with a known confirmed case.
Both individuals are currently self-isolating.
There are currently 35 active cases in the Algoma region.
Algoma regions with COVID-19 cases reported in the past 14 days include:
- Central and East Algoma
- Sault Ste. Marie and area
- Elliot Lake and area
