APH reporting three new COVID cases in Algoma

Algoma Public Health is reporting three new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.

Of the new cases, one is from central and east Algoma and two are from the Elliot Lake area.

The three new cases bring the total number of cases in the region since the start of the pandemic to 184.

Case number 182, tested on Feb. 5, is in the unknown exposure category, as it case number 183, tested on Feb. 3.

Case number 184, also tested on Feb. 3, is in the close contact exposure category.

Unknown exposure means the person did not have any international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case.

Close contact exposure means the individual was infected through close contact with a known confirmed case.

There are currently 28 active COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region.
