Case number 42 of COVID-19 in the Algoma District has been confirmed by Algoma Public Health.
The health unit says the person with COVID-19 was a close contact of another person who tested positive.
The current case is evidence of ongoing community spread in southern Ontario and is currently self-isolating.
The health unit says it has already notified all close contacts of this person.
This brings the total number of active cases in the district to three.
