Take notice that Town of Innisfil Council is holding a public meeting on March 19, 2025, at 6:30 PM to present the review of the Town’s 2023 Community Benefits Charges Strategy and associated By-law. Council will be considering passing a resolution to consider whether a revision to the current Community Benefits Charges By-law is needed on a date following this public meeting.
Community benefits charges are imposed under the Planning Act on new buildings with five or more storeys and ten or more residential units. They are used to help pay for growth-related capital expenditures. Prior to passing a resolution to review the existing Community Benefits Charges By-law, the Town must consult with persons that the Town considers appropriate.
The public meeting is an opportunity for the public to review and provide comments on the updated Community Benefits Charges Strategy, as required under section 37 (54-56) of the Planning Act. No changes are proposed to the current in force Community Benefits Charges By-law.

The Community Benefits Charge Strategy will be made available on the Town’s website at www.innisfil.ca on March 5, 2025.
Any person may attend the public meeting and make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the recommendations in the Community Benefits Charges Strategy. Written comments should be directed to Patty Thoma, Town Clerk, at [email protected] and submitted no later than Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. or to the address below so that necessary arrangements can be made with respect to the agenda. Comments received before and at the public meeting will be considered by Council before passing a resolution related to the current in-force Community Benefits Charge By-law.
