NORPRO Security Ltd. is looking for independent and motivated individuals to join our team as Mobile Patrol Security Guards. Norpro Security Ltd. offers a wide range of security services in Northern Ontario. Our security group administers stand-alone and integrated services to clients ranging from one-time security guards to the complete package that utilizes all of our services. We are proud to have many First Nation partnerships and successful business relations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Patrol property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and inspecting property, equipment and access points, permitting or refusing entry.
• Patrol designated property to monitor and prevent intrusion, damage, hazards and breaches of security.
• Maintain high visibility to deter illegal and inappropriate actions looking for signs of crime or other hazards, taking action to minimize damage and reporting any incidents to their supervisor, clients and emergency services as appropriate
• Observe, identify and report incidents at assigned client sites and will be responsible for the security and safety of clients’ properties.
• Respond to alarms.
• Operate monitoring equipment and complex security cameras.
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards.
• Remain in compliance with local, provincial and federal regulations.
• Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance.
• Write and submit security reports.
• Ensure all incident/accident reports are recorded accurately and submitted to the Operations Manager as they occur.
• Provide support, coverage when required, and supervision of Static Security Guards with regular patrol visits and communication.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Valid Security Guard License
• Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
• Valid Class G Driver’s License, Clear Drivers Abstract
• Minimum one year experience in a security guard role
• Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check
Preferred:
• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Must have demonstrated proficiency with computers and Microsoft programs.
• Above average English oral and written communication skills.
• Basic Computer Skills competency in Microsoft Office and other related programs.
• Ability to respond and deal with urgent/critical issues.
• Work with little or no supervision.
• Certified Non-Violent Crisis Intervention/Use of Force Certification (Or willing to train)
• Certified Resistance Management and Effective Communications. (Or willing to train)

Working conditions
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions from 30 degrees to below 20 degrees and exposed to various climates and conditions. Wearing safety clothing and equipment may at times be required.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to drive, sit, walk, bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis.
Must be able to perform under pressure, concentrate for a prolonged period and able to work long hours under stressful conditions. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated with attempting to resolve issues with difficult staff, other people.
