PUC Services Inc. (PUC) operates multiple utilities within and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie, including the supply, treatment and distribution of municipal drinking water, the supply of electricity, and the operation of wastewater treatment facilities.
Who is eligible?
Students who have been in full-time attendance (September to April) at a post-secondary education institution and who will be returning to full-time studies in the fall. Students must also possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Driver’s License in good standing.
Returning Summer Students
Students who are eligible for re-hire (students who worked for PUC Services Inc. the previous summer and are returning to full-time studies in the fall), are also required to submit a resume prior to the deadline.
Work Tasks
Summer Students are required to assist the Facilities Department in the general building and property maintenance of PUC Services Inc.’s various work sites. These sites include the main PUC Building, the Water Treatment Plant, the East and West Environmental Centres, as well as maintaining the various pump stations and substations. The work is mainly outdoor general labour and may be physically demanding in nature.
