We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Building Project Specialist to handle space planning projects and real estate tasks as well as day to day operational activities.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Senior Manager Planning, you will be empowered to:

  • Manage space within the OLG’s Corporate Real Estate Portfolio, lead or support space planning projects within the Planning Department.

  • Oversee construction/renovation projects, and day to day activities.

  • Ensure safety and compliance with standards, codes, and accessibility frameworks.

  • Manage vendor contracts ensuring contractors are performing their work in a safe manner and fulfilling contractual obligation.

  • Work with the Joint Health and Safety Committee to resolve issues.

  • Maintain and monitor budgets and ensure all project documentation is completed and stored properly.

  • Coordinate logistics and communication for projects and moves/adds/changes oversee the physical move of staff equipment and contents ensuring adequate business continuity.

  • Escort and coordinate access for vendors, contractors, and consultants and arrange all access and elevator bookings to ensure activities occur without disruption.

  • Handle communication (organizational and employee notices, update signage, and other communication tools and avenues).

  • Provide input into space planning and perform drawing and documentation reviews of consultant design development, tender/permit and construction drawings, shop drawings, of varying complexity and monitor the ongoing change in documents during construction/renovation projects in order to ensure that builds are executed in a manner that align with OLG’s business plans.

  • At the end of projects, ensure all permits are closed out, all warranties and manuals are received and distributed to the appropriate parties to ensure accurate documentation is retained and distributed to the appropriate parties and hand off to the Maintenance Team all pertinent maintenance documents and records.

  • Complete day to day tasks such as updates to signage, assign lockers, update department drawings and tracking sheets and respond to Planning requests through our electronic ticketing system.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience:  2-4 years of experience in office facility management, office design, or construction coordination. 

Education: University or College Degree/Diploma Facility Management or Construction Management, Architecture, or Interior Design.

Critical Skills:  Knowledge of building code, universal design and accessibility | Knowledge of blueprint reading, construction safety and regulations | Experience with consultant, contractor, vendor and landlord management | Knowledge of systems furniture and materials used in office design | Strong project coordination, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills |  Proficiency in Auto CAD and Microsoft Office; Photoshop and InDesign are a plus | Strong organization and administrative skills | Ability to create graphic drawings and presentations for communication purposes are an asset |  Knowledge of green reporting is and asset
