We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Sr Communications Manager - Digital to contribute to the strategic communications function across OLG’s lines of business and shared services in support of OLG’s business priorities and organizational goals.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Director, Communications Strategy & Planning, you will be empowered to:

  • Provide strategic communications advice that helps shape OLG’s story and supports enterprise business priorities

  • Think strategically, identifying and applying the appropriate communications approach to a variety of proactive and reactive situations

  • Manage and drive the end-to-end strategic communications planning process, from project briefings through material delivery

  • Produce well written, professional communications products for media, social and digital use that demonstrate attention to detail and require minimal mechanical revisions

  • Deliver strategic, quality, high-performing copy optimized for the web using data-driven insights, for a diverse range of online corporate products, including articles, blogs, website headlines and sub copy, and e-newsletters

  • Develop and lead production of digital and multimedia assets, including determining the strategic and creative approach, writing scripts and storyboards for videos and animations, overseeing design and execution of e-newsletters and managing external photographers, videographers, and other vendors as necessary

  • Work independently to drive assigned projects forward quickly, while collaborating as a critical, trusted and kind member of a small, high performing, high output team

  • Build and maintain collaborative, positive relationships with OLG business partners, becoming a “go to” resource to assess communication requirements and develop communication strategies

  • Respond quickly when needed to manage crisis communications to help manage reputational risk and threats to operational integrity

  • Act responsibly, applying sound judgment and demonstrating excellent political acumen to develop appropriate strategies and related communications tactics

  • Ensure all communications developed reflect OLG’s corporate voice and are considerate of OLG’s position as a Crown agency of the Ontario government

  • Support senior leadership and executives, providing information and counsel to ensure management is kept up to date on external communications strategies

  • Increase the team’s ability to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategic communications function, recommending methods for improvement and growth

  • Identify and support PR opportunities, working with external agencies as necessary to amplify initiatives and maximize positive results

  • Coordinate with Internal Communications to ensure an integrated approach to functional communications for an internal audience

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: 7+ years of experience in a communications role, with a focus on corporate communications and experience in PR, digital and multimedia communications; experience in a public sector regulatory environment is preferred 

Education: University degree or college diploma in Communications, Public Relations or a related field, or equivalent work experience

Critical Skills: Superior written, oral, and visual communication skills; relationship management skills; photo editing/graphic design skills; problem solving skills; creative acumen; detail oriented
