For more than 30 years, Skeggs Paciocco Lawyers LLP has dedicated itself to providing premium, results-oriented, client-centered legal services to Northern Ontario.

We are currently seeking an experienced family law clerk to join our family law practice on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in family law or civil litigation, a keen eye for detail and share our commitment to excellence, integrity and client-focused advocacy.

Primary Duties Include:
• Assisting with family law matters from client intake to final resolution.
• Preparing various legal documents such as Financial Statements, Net Family Property Statements and other Ontario Superior Court of Justice documents, as needed.
• Attending to court filings and uploading court materials to the Superior Court of Justice.
• Managing the client relationship, including interacting with clients, scheduling appointments and responding to client inquiries.
• Managing, prioritizing and responding to incoming calls and correspondence.
• Opening and closing files, drafting reports and preparing accounts.
• Providing general administrative assistance as required.

Required Skill Set:
• Excellent computer skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Familiarity with the various family law related statutes (i.e., Divorce Act, Family Law Act, Family Law Rules, etc.).
• Familiarity with Superior Court of Justice procedures and regional practice directions.
• Familiarity with One-Key portal and filing documents.
• Punctual, responsible, and reliable.
• Demonstrated commitment to client service and professional representation of the firm.
• Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and independently.

Additional Details:
• Compensation: Salary commensurate with level of experience.

• Vacation: Minimum of 4 weeks.

• Regular Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including 1 hour and 15-minute lunch break.

• Work Location: On-site (819 Queen Street East, Sault Ste. Marie).

• Onsite Dress Code: Corporate or business casual.

• Education: Post Secondary Diploma or Certificate in law clerk/legal assistant studies or related field considered an asset but is not required.

• Preferred Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a law clerk or legal assistant in a family law or civil litigation practice.
