JOB SUMMARY
As a Job Developer, you will play a pivotal role in connecting job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities by building strong relationships with local employers and community stakeholders. You will leverage your industry knowledge and networking skills to generate job leads, negotiate placements, and support clients throughout their employment journey to ensure long-term job retention. This role involves coaching and mentoring clients, particularly those facing employment barriers, and matching them with suitable job placements that align with their skills, interests, and career goals. Additionally, you will maintain up-to-date knowledge of the local labour market, ensure employer eligibility and workplace safety through site visits, and complete all necessary documentation for job placements. Through problem-solving, advocacy, and program compliance, you will contribute to the success of both job seekers and employers while fostering sustainable employment opportunities within the community.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EMPLOYER OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT
• Identify and Engage Employers - Research potential employers, initiate outreach through networking and cold-calling, and develop strong partnerships to create job opportunities for clients
• Promote Clients and Facilitate Hiring – Advocate for clients by showcasing their skills and suitability for job roles, negotiate placements, and organize job fairs, recruitment events, and employer panels
• Support Inclusive Hiring Practices – Educate employers on the benefits of hiring diverse candidates and collaborate with internal teams to customize job placements and training programs to meet industry needs.
• Maintain Employer Relationships – Monitor employer satisfaction, gather feedback, and refine engagement strategies to strengthen long-term partnerships and enhance job retention rates.
CLIENT SUPPORT
• Match Clients to Job Opportunities – Align client skills and interests with job leads, coordinate applications and interviews, assess employer suitability, and support hiring decisions
• Support Employment Retention – Maintain regular communication with clients and employers during placements, providing guidance to ensure long-term success.
• Facilitate Program Administration – Assist employers with program requirements, including training agreements, contracts, and workplace capacity assessments to ensure compliance.
ADMINISTRATION AND DATA MANAGEMENT
• Maintain Accurate Records – Ensure up-to-date documentation of client interactions, job placements, employer contacts, and program outcomes while adhering to confidentiality and organizational standards.
• Manage Databases and Reporting – Maintain and update job lead databases and client management systems, compiling data to generate reports on program effectiveness for internal and funding purposes.
• Support Documentation and Compliance – Assist clients and employers with required paperwork, including employment contracts and training agreements, while ensuring adherence to program guidelines.
• Track Employer Engagement – Document employer interactions, job postings, and placement results to monitor progress, enhance job-matching efforts, and improve service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a related discipline
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
• Experience Supporting Diverse Clients – Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized individuals with complex needs, using Motivational Interviewing and de-escalation techniques to engage clients effectively.
• Client Assessment and Job Matching – Ability to assess client skills, interests, and career goals to connect them with suitable job opportunities.
• Employer and Community Engagement – Skilled in building relationships with employers, community organizations, and job seekers to create job opportunities and placements.
• Labour Market Awareness – Knowledge of current job market trends and industry demands relevant to client needs.
• Data Management and Reporting – Proficiency in maintaining accurate records, tracking client progress, and generating reports using database systems.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Strong verbal and written communication, including reflective listening and intercultural communication techniques.
• Time and Resource Management – Ability to manage client caseloads efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation and effective service delivery.
• Technical Proficiency – Experience using Microsoft 365 Workspace (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and Adobe Reader, with the ability to learn new systems as needed.
• Adaptability and Teamwork – Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining professionalism in changing situations.
• Commitment to Ethics and Inclusion – Strong commitment to privacy, confidentiality, and cultural diversity, ensuring respectful and inclusive interactions.

• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check
