Position Overview

As a key member of GHC Cardiac Rehab, the Kinesiologist will be responsible for independently carrying out group exercise and cardiac rehabilitation therapy exercises under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services. The suitable candidate will work well independently and in a team and will perform administrative duties and ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or Human Kinetics
  • Current registration with the Ontario Kinesiology Association with membership and certification in good standing

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities  

  • Minimum 1 year experience in fitness training and/or physical education preferably with people with chronic disease
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful positive working relationships
  • Well-developed self-awareness, self-management and social awareness skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Cardiac Rehabilitation and chronic disease self-management
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of patient care and support
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service evidenced by well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated success in living the values of GHC
  • A solid track record of maintaining privacy and confidentiality in the workplace
  • Proven ability to deliver, manage and coordinate care and services

Compensation:

  • Salary as per the CUPE Collective Agreement - $28.60- $30.95
  • Comprehensive Benefit Package
  • Enrollment in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
