Seeking a New Board Member
SAULT STE. MARIE - The City's largest nursing home is seeking committed, experienced and caring Board members who are passionate about ensuring quality long-term care to the 374 residents of the F. J. Davey Home and supporting the Home's 400+ staff. The F. J. Davey Home is a not-for-profit corporation, managed through a service contract by the Home's operational partner Extendicare Assist.
The FJ Davey Home is looking to add to its board of directors. This volunteer position is part of a governance team that meets monthly via virtual or on-site attendance to provide over-all direction so that the Home meets its obligations as outlined in the Ministry of Health, Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021. The Board has a maximum membership of 11 persons and meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 4:00 pm, not including July and August. Monthly commitment to prepare for and attend meetings is approximately 4 to 6 hours per month.
Currently, the Board of Directors are seeking additional individuals with an emphasis on experience with continuous quality improvement, risk management and Finance. Previous experience with public sector and governance boards is an asset.
The Resident home areas are supported by full time physician and Nurse practitioner services, registered nursing, registered practical nurses and a broad team including personal support workers, activities department, behavioral support team, social worker and full dietary services.
