The Group Health Centre is a progressive multi-specialty ambulatory care health care organization and is one of Canada’s first consumer-sponsored health care facilities. As Ontario’s largest and longest-established alternatively funded healthcare organization, Group Health Centre provides primary care to over 50,000 Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District residents, as well as various clinical programs to our entire community. In addition, Group Health Centre’s recently established the Access Care Clinic, led by Nurse Practitioners. The clinic provides access to essential healthcare services to recently de-rostered patients in the community as a temporary solution to current Primary Care Physician recruitment challenges.
As a member of our innovative interdisciplinary Primary Care Support Team, the Social Worker will actively collaborate on healthcare initiatives, utilizing evidence-based practices to support patients and families facing mental illness and other challenging life situations. The Social Worker will provide consultation, clinical assessments, counseling, education, and advocacy in both individual and group settings, with the overarching goal of improving and optimizing mental health and wellness.
Education
The ideal candidate may possess:
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a health care setting.
$68,698.50 - $74,470.50 annually (commensurate with experience)
