The Algoma District Services Administration Board’s (ADSAB’s) mission is to provide effective and efficient Social and Paramedic Services that are responsive to diverse individual and community needs. Our vision is strengthening the social, health and economic wellbeing of the citizens we serve to promote sustainable, healthy communities in the District of Algoma. We service 20 organized municipalities and the unorganized townships within the geographic District of Algoma.

We are seeking a candidate for the following vacancy at our Head Office located in Little Rapids.

Children’s Services and Early Learning Funding Officer, Head Office, Little Rapids.

This full-time management position reports to the Director of Finance, and will be responsible for the financial administration of funding agreements with external Children’s Services and Early Learning Providers.

This is a salaried management position, required to work a minimum of 36.25 hours per week. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, negotiating, collaborative, persuasive, and problem-solving skills to work effectively with other ADSAB staff and departments, Children’s Services and Early Learning providers, and other external agencies and contacts.
- Demonstrated positive impact on others, and the ability to establish and maintain trust and effective working relationships with Children’s Services and Early Learning providers.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in a relevant discipline (preferably Business Administration, Commerce or Accounting), or equivalent experience in finance or business administration. Obtaining or working toward CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Competency to conduct financial and compliance audits, and to advise and support service providers in the development of sound policies and procedures that meet internal and regulatory compliance requirements.
- A minimum three years’ relevant experience in financial administration, business administration or consulting, or financial and compliance auditing.
- Knowledge of relevant corporate and children’s services and early learning-related legislation and regulations, and ADSAB programs, policies and procedures.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office 365 applications, and demonstrated ability to effectively learn and implement new computer technologies and to assist others with technical and user support.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required to attend providers’ operations throughout the district.
