Engineering Technician (Summer Student)

The Algoma District School Board invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Engineering Technician (Summer Student).

Eligible Student Participants:
• Registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intends to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year, in a relevant field of study: Civil, Architectural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Technician/Technologist programs.
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee protection Act
• Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
• Valid G Class Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Updating of school drawings/floor plans on AutoCAD (AutoCAD 2022)
• Updating of database of Facility condition Reports
• Scanning and filing of school drawings
• Reviewing and filing of project documents
• Managing of small projects as assigned, including travel within the City of SSM
• Updating of Capital Plan files
• Other duties as assigned

Rate of Pay: $17.20/hour
