Job Title: Summer Student – Various roles
Job Type: Temporary Full-Time; 35 hour work-week, 8:30am -4:30pm
Wage: $17.20
The Social Services Summer Student Employment Program offers opportunities in the Kids Being Kids Early Years Program, the Housing Division, Human Resources, and Finance.
General Duties and Responsibilities of a Summer Student:
• Assist in developing and delivering engaging recreational activities for the Kids Being Kids program, fostering a positive and supportive environment. Food preparation/Safe food handling may be included in this role.
• Support Human Resources functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and contributing to the overall efficiency of HR operations.
• Assist with general financial tasks, including record-keeping, data entry, and supporting budget tracking and financial reporting activities.
• Provides assistance with corporate event planning and execution, contributing to successful event logistics and coordination.
• Perform a variety of administrative tasks including filing, typing, email correspondence, and general office support to ensure smooth operations.

Social Services diploma/degree program, Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Business, Finance, Office Administration, Human Resources diploma/degree program, building trades, Architecture/Architect Technologist, or other related fields.
ELIGIBILITY
• Full-time students from the previous academic year that are returning to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year are eligible for summer employment with Social Services.
• Full G Drivers’ License and access to reliable vehicle considered an asset.
• Bilingual in English and French considered an asset.
