The Parts Counter/ Shipper/Receiver is responsible for picking, packing, and preparing products for shipment. They are also responsible for receiving parts and transporting them to the correct storage location within our facilities. This role is integral to our success and is perfect for an energetic and dedicated candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The shipping/ receiving role is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in parts, inventory management, computerized systems, shipping/transportation and logistics coordination.
Key Accountabilities:
• Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously and with dignity.
• Coordinate both local and international shipments through several different transport companies, arranging for efficient delivery’s and pickups
• Prepare various documentation such as work orders, parts invoices, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
• Inspection and verification of incoming/outgoing material to and from various sites; installations through CDK inventory management system
• Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move shipments either by hand or using material handling equipment
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper stocking of inventory in the work area
• Maintain quality in the warehouse and keep track of all damaged inventory and report the same to the supervising authorities
• Compare shipment contents to packing slips/invoices to verify the accuracy of shipments
• Scanning and entering product moves into our CDK system
• Using the company vehicle to move products as required
• Perform cycle counts and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies
• Manage parts inquiries and correspondence effectively over the parts counter, through email and by phone in a timely and courteous manner.
• Participate in safe working and environmentally sound behaviors and objectives at all times in support of Construction Equipment Co (Sault) Inc.’s Health and Safety Policy/Programs.
• Promote CEC’s core values and actively contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment
Key Qualifications:
• Forklift experience and license considered an asset
• Valid Class G driver's license
• Minimum of one year of related work experience
• Proficient in MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
• Experience with CDK systems is considered an asset
• Excellent attendance habits
• Extremely reliable and organized
• Outstanding time management skills
• Technical knowledge specific to the heavy equipment parts industry would be an asset.
• Ability to build and sustain customer relationships through effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• A positive self-motivated team player with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Computer systems literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications; CDK Heavy Equipment would be an asset.
• Willing and able to work flexible hours in support of the business needs.
