A 42-year-old was arrested yesterday morning after someone phoned 911 to report a person inside a vacant property.

The 911 call came in around 10:45 a.m., dispatching city police officers to a multi-unit residence in the 200 block of McNabb Street.

Sault Police say although the suspect had already exited the vacant unit through a window, she was located nearby and placed under investigative detention.

“During the initial investigation, the accused provided a false name to officers,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “Officers learned the accused's real identity, and they were arrested.”

Angie Neshawabin, 42, is charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house and obstructing a peace officer.

She was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on July 22.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Neshawabin is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
