A local woman was charged with break and enter after an incident that occurred earlier this week.

In a news release issued today, Sault Ste. Marie police say they responded to a call around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 18 after the victim allegedly found the accused trying to steal items in a residence, located in the 0-100 block of Albert Street East.

The homeowner restrained the accused while waiting for police.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim restraining the accused for police, and as a result, Alexandra Bright, 28, was arrested and charged with break and enter.

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14, 2022.
