Female arrested for assault
On the 28th of December 2016 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29-year-old Teija Aspegren, of Forest Avenue, for assault.
Just after midnight on the 28th of December 2016 officers responded to a downtown bar regarding a female who had engaged in a fight with people there. The accused had a cut on her lip as a result of an altercation that she was in. It is alleged that when a male tried to break up that altercation the accused spit blood on him.
Police were contacted and the accused was arrested. While officers were dealing with the accused she [allegedly] turned her head and began to spit blood at an officer.
The accused was taken into custody and charged with two counts of assault. She will appear in bail court today.
