A 911 call has led to charges against a 63-year-old woman.

On Saturday night around 9 p.m., someone phoned 911 to report a break and enter at a multi-unit residential building in the 0-100 block of Terry Fox Place.

Sault Police say when they arrived at the scene, they found the suspect in her own unit and arrested her.

Police say an investigation revealed that the accused had broken into the victim's unit while they were not home and went through their belongings.

Irene Burch is charged with:

  • break and enter
  • failure to comply with undertaking (x2)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Burch is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
