Three persons will appear in bail court this morning:
1) A 24-year old male was arrested yesterday morning. It is alleged that on September 14th the accused contacted his ex-girlfriend by phone and asked her a number of questions about her personal life. The accused was on conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the victim. The accused was also on probation at the time of the phone calls. The male has been charged with two counts of breach of a release order and one count of breach of probation.
2) A 25-year old female was arrested just after 2 am this morning. The accused and her partner got into a verbal argument. It is alleged that the accused picked up a beer bottle and struck the female victim over the head. Police were called to the downtown residence. The victim did not require medical treatment. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions. The accused has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of breach of probation.
3) A 22-year old female was arrested just before 7 pm last night after City Police were called to a centrally located residence for a dispute. It is alleged that the female assaulted her common law husband by throwing an ashtray at the male victim and striking him in the head. It is also alleged that the accused struck the victim with a telephone and also held up a knife and a cooking pot to the victim and threatened to harm him. The female has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm.
Impaired Driving Charges Laid Against Male
Just before 2 am this morning City Police observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Great Northern Road. The officers observed the vehicle swerving in the center lane of the road. Officers stopped the vehicle and found that the driver exhibited signs of impairment. Subsequently Alain Carrier of 39 Sunnydale Road was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. He will appear in court on October 31st.
Robbery
Just before 4 am this morning City Police attended in the area of Grace Street for a robbery. It is alleged that male was walking in that area when a red car approached him and 2 black males and a black female approached him, punched him and made demands to turn his money over. The victim complied with their demands and the accused persons left the area. The vehicle was last seen headed along Grace Street towards Elgin Street. The vehicle is described as a red car, older model with 4-doors. The female is described as being black, in her 40’s, heavy set and wearing imitation yellow hair. One male is described s being black with very short hair, about 25 years old and was wearing a dark jacket and jeans. The second male is described as being black, in his 40’s, wearing dress pants and a dark jacket. The suspects did make off with an undisclosed amount of money. Vehicles Damaged in Car Lot
City Police attended at World Cars Complex on Trunk Road yesterday in regards to a mischief call. Culprits smashed windows and damaged steering columns in 4 vehicles in the lot. If you know who is responsible for this act of vandalism call City Police or Crime Stoppers.
Bear Sightings
Yesterday City Police received 2 bear calls both around 5 pm. A bear was seen in the area of Yates Road in a garden. And 3 bear cubs were seen in the 1100 block of Allen’s Side Road.
