Officers from Investigation Services have completed their investigation into this matter. It has been determined that there was no criminal intent and no charges will be laid in this matter. As a result, no further details will be released.
On October 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., City Police arrested and charged a 23 year old male in relation to a domestic investigation in Prince Township and the western end of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. It is alleged that in a period between February and October 13, 2015, the accused sexually assaulted the victim, repeatedly attended at her residence and repeatedly contacted her via phone and text messages. The accused was also on a recognizance of bail with conditions not to communicate with the victim. Accordingly, he was charged with Criminal Harassment, Sexual Assault and Breach of Recognizance X 2. He will be appearing in Bail Court on October 15, 2015.
On October 14, 2015 at 2:20 p.m., City Police arrested and charged a second male in regard to an assault complaint in the bush area north of Old Goulais Bay Rd. on October 10, 2015. It is alleged that on that date, the accused, Andre Lapensee, 20 years, of Fourth Line West, Sault Ste. Marie, ON assaulted three people at the bush party. He has been charged with assault X 3 and will appear in court on November 16, 2015.
On October 13, 2015, city police attended in the area of Farewell Terrace responding to a group of individuals engaging in a physical altercation. During the altercation it is alleged that a flare gun was pointed at the victim and then fired causing an injury to the victim. The injury did not need medical attention. Officers later located the accused and charged him with assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, firearm used during a fight, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 23, 2015 at 9 a.m.
