Youth Arrested for Assault and Breach of Probation at Local Youth Centre

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 15 year-old male youth on the 11th of October at 4:50 pm at a local youth centre and charged him with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 8th of October the accused assaulted a fellow inmate while in custody at the local youth centre. At the time of this incident the accused was on two separate probation orders to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Youth Arrested for Drug Possession, Cause a Disturbance, Mischief and Resist Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 16 year-old male youth on the 11th of October at 10:45 pm and charged with one count of cause a disturbance, one count of resist peace officer, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of mischief under $5,000.

It is alleged that on the 11th of October members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team were conducting a drug investigation involving the youth being in possession of marijuana on a city bus. The accused was located on the bus at the terminal and arrested for possession of controlled drug. When the accused was being handcuffed and searched, he began fighting with the officers and continued to yell and swear at them.

The accused was found in possession of 7 grams of marijuana with a street value of approximately $140. When the accused was in custody at the police station he damaged a cell light. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Youth Arrested for Breaching Release Documents

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 14 year-old male youth at 6:25 pm last night and charged him with two counts of breach of an undertaking. It is alleged that on the 9th and 11th of October the accused attended at a residence of persons known to him and communicated with them and at the time he was on an undertaking with conditions not to attend there or communicate with persons at the residence. The youth is to appear in bail court this morning.

Domestic Related Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 35 year-old male at 9:20 pm on the 11th of October and charged him with two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 11th of October the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and at the time he was on conditions that he not attend there and was to kept he peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male wanted for Residence Break and Enter Arrested

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Edward Hodgson of 68 Wolf Street Garden River on the 11th of October at 7:05 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of break and enter a dwelling. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a break and enter that occurred at a residence on Cunningham Road between the 25th and 26th of May 2011. The accused is to appear in court on the 7th of November.

Break and Enter/Theft Reports

• An attempt break and enter occurred at a residence on Pardee Avenue at approximately 2:05 am this morning.

• Licence plates were stolen from a vehicle on Greenfield Drive.
