Arrest Sexual Assault: On October 10, 2012 an accused male, age 49, attended at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Station to turn himself in to police on an outstanding warrant.

Arrest Sexual Assault: On October 10, 2012 an accused male, age 49, attended at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Station to turn himself in to police on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that between October 2011 and December 2011 the accused did have unwanted sexual relations with his then step daughter. The accused was arrested and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual exploitation.  The accused appeared in bail court on October 10, 2012 at 10:00am.

Arrest Domestic Assaults:  On October 9, 2012, police arrest a 22 year old male on domestic matters.  It is alleged that between August 2012 and June 2012 the accused sexually assaulted the victim forcing sexual activity on the victim against the victim’s wishes.  Further on or between June 1, 2010 and June 30, 2010 the accused assault the victim by burning the victim with a cigarette.  Further between August 1, and August 30, 2010 the accused assaulted the victim by pushing the victim from behind causing the victim to fall face first into a stairwell.  Further between March 1, and March 31, 2012 the accused assaulted the victim by striking the victim in the nose causing the victim’s nose to bleed. The accused will appear in bail court October 10, 2012 at 10:00am.

Fraud: After further investigation six more charges of fraud were laid on Chad Tucker of No Fixed Abode.  The charges all stem from the use of a stolen credit card and the purchase of merchandise from several local businesses. The accused did attend in bail court on October 10, 2012 at 10:00 am.

Attempt thefts:  On October 10, 2012 young people were observed trying to enter vehicles in the area of Moluch Street and LaRonde Avenue.

Mischief: Male subject was observed going in and out of driveways in the area of Ashgrove Avenue.

Break and Enter: A business in the 100 block of Old Garden River Road was entered. The front window was smashed out. It is believed that the culprit did enter the building but it appears at this point nothing was taken.

Theft of a mail box in the 1100 block of Third Line East.

On October 9, 2012 police attested Steven Pastino, age 42 of 45 Carlbert Street for breach of recognizance X 2 and breach of probation.  It is alleged that the accused was found near a residence on Queen Street West and at the time was in possession of a cell phone.  The accused did breach his probation order by not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour. The accused will appear in bail court on October 10, 2012 at 10:00am.

On October 9, 2012 the accused Cindy Knowlson, age 46 was arrested for theft under $5000.  It is alleged that the accused did steal medication from a local business in the west end of the City.  The accused will appear in court on November 19, 2012 at 9:00am.

On October 9, 2012 police were called to the Station Mall and arrested a 39 year old male for possession of a stolen credit card and fraud.  It is alleged that on September 25, 2012 the accused attended at a jewelry store in the mall and purchased 2 rings using a stolen credit card.  On October 9th, 2012 the accused returned to the store and attempted to return one of the rings.  Chad Tucker of 291 Goulais Avenue will attend in bail court on October 10, 2012 at 10:00am.

Theft:

Theft of a purse and contents from a business in the 200 block of McNabb Street.

Theft of two trash cans in the 100 block of Murphy Street.

Theft of groceries, paring knife and flashlight taken from a vehicle in the 50 block of Laronde Avenue.

Bail court:

A 53 year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being involved in a domestic dispute. The accused was on probation at the time of the offence. The accused has been charged with assault and breach of probation. Minor injuries were received by the victim of the assault.

A young offender will also appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that the accused young person assaulted a worker at a youth detention center. No injuries were reported in this incident which occurred on Tuesday October 9th.
