Four persons to appear in bail court Early this morning, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 24-year-old male for assault and breach of a recognizance.
Four persons to appear in bail court
Early this morning, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 24-year-old male for assault and breach of a recognizance. It is alleged that the accused male assaulted two members of his family by punching them and shoving the victims. At the time of these offences the accused was on a recognizance release order to keep the peace. The accused is charged with two counts of assault and two counts of breach of a recognizance. The victims received minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 37-year-old male for threatening. It is alleged that the accused became involved in an argument with his ex wife and tern threatened to kill her and her children. The accused is charged with three counts of threatening death.

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 26-year-old female for warrants. It is alleged that she was wanted on warrants for, theft under $5,000, failing to appear for court, failing to appear for identification and breach of a recognizance. It is further alleged that at the time of her arrest the accused obstructed police by falsely identifying herself. Candace Sherlock, age 36 of no fixed address, is charged with one count of obstruct police, four counts of breach of recognizance, one count of failing to appear for identification, one count of failing to appear for court and two count of theft under $ 5,000.

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 16-year-old male for robbery, possession of stolen property and breach of probation. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of March 15th the accused and two other males forcefully entered a residence in the city’s west end. At the time of the entry the accused is alleged to have used a baseball bat to threaten the victim. The accused and the other males are then alleged to have stolen property from the residence. The accused was arrested at an address in the 100 block of Wellington St. W. The accused is charged with one count of robbery, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of breach of probation. The victim and accused are known to each other. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.

Male arrested for sexual assault
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 55-year-old male for sexual assault. It is alleged that on March 14th 2011 the accused sexual assaulted the female complainant by grabbing her breast. Gerald MacGillivary, age 55 of 272 Rowell Ave is charged with one count of sexual assault. Mr. MacGillivary is to appear in court on April 18th at 9:00 am. The victim and the accused are not known to each other.

Male arrested for theft
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 23-year-old male for theft. It is alleged that the accused stole $ 49.98 worth of electronics from the Zellers Store in the Station Mall. The accused was arrested by store security and turned over to police. Randy Link, age 23 of 27 Boston Ave is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. Mr. Link is to appear in court on April 11h at 9:00 am.

Break and enter
There were two break and enters reported yesterday.
A residence in the 700 block of second Line W. was entered – it is unknown what was taken.
A business in the 100 block of Railroad Ave was entered – it is unknown what if anything was taken.

Mischief
A window was smashed at a residence in the 100 block of Princeton Dr.

Theft
Jewellery was reported stolen from a residence in the 1600 block of Wellington St.E.
An orange Devinci bicycle was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Turner Ave.
