INJURIES IN ASSAULT At approximately 7:00 yesterday evening, an assault took place in the area of Andrew Street and John Street. In the incident, a 36-year-old male was assaulted by three males carrying a hockey stick, a crow bar and a beer bottle.

At approximately 7:00 yesterday evening, an assault took place in the area of Andrew Street and John Street. In the incident, a 36-year-old male was assaulted by three males carrying a hockey stick, a crow bar and a beer bottle.

It is alleged that the suspects struck the victim repeatedly about the body with the weapons. The victim was taken to hospital and detained for treatment. His injuries include a broken leg, bruised shoulders and back and facial injuries.

At 10:55 p.m. city police located and arrested one of the suspects. Charged with Aggravated Assault and Breach of Probation is Kyle Andrew Fitzherbert, age 20, of 166 Andrew Street.

The city police service is still investigating this incident and would ask any citizens that may have any information to contact the detective office. The motive for the assault is unknown.


CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED
Yesterday afternoon police arrested and charged Leo Mathieu, age 62 of 738 Frontenac Street, with Impaired Driving and Driving Over 80 Mgs. Mr. Mathieu was seen driving in an erratic manner on Boundary Road and McNabb Street.


SEVERAL CHARGES FOR MICHELLE
At 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police were called to the Station Mall Zellers Store in regards to a female attempting to return items that she had stolen. It is alleged that the accused then used a false name in making the returns. Charged with Theft Under $ 5,000.00, Possession Under $ 5,000.00 and Uttering a Forged Document is Michelle Mary Pszeniczny, age 21 of 13 Plaintree Drive


BREAK & ENTERS
There were three break-ins reported to police yesterday. Culprits entered a home in the 400 block of Second Line West by forcing a rear bedroom window. It is unknown at this time what was stolen. Culprits also entered a garage in the 100 block of Rossmore Road, where a lawnmower was stolen and a garage in the 2000 block of Millennium Crt.


BEARS
Police were called to the areas of Case Road and Maki Road last night regarding nuisance bears. The bears are attempting to get at garbage.
