Possession of Child Pornography Charges

On the 26th of June 2007, as a result of a joint investigation under the Provincial Strategy Against Child Pornography Project, the Sault Ste Marie Police Service’s Internet Child Exploitation Unit along with the Ontario Provincial Police’s Child Pornography Section Project P conducted an investigation at a residence in Shetland Trailer Park on Highway 17 in Heyden. As a result of the investigation forty one year old Michel Goudreault of 18 Dixie Rd, Shetland Trailer Park has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and making child pornography available. Mr Goudreault will be attending bail court on the 27th of June at 10:00am. This investigation is continuing.

The Provincial Strategy Against Child Pornography Project has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Ministry of the Attorney General.

Watch out for Kids

City Police would like to remind the community that school will soon be done for the summer and that children will be out in full force taking advantage of the nice weather. Please be cautious of children when driving and remember to slow down in areas where children may be playing.

Domestic Incident

A 49 year old male has been charged in a domestic related incident. It is believed that on the 20th of June the accused assaulted his wife when he forcibly grabbed her wrists as she held their young child at their east end home. City Police attended that residence yesterday evening and arrested the accused. The victim did not require medical attention and the accused has been charged with 1 count of assault and will appear in bail court today.

Assault & Breach

Earlier this morning City Police attended at an east end residence and arrested a 37 year old male. The accused on the 12 of May was at his residence when his ex-girlfriend attended to retrieve her belongings. It is believed that the accused punched her in the face and on the back of the head. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused has been charged with 1 count of assault and 2 counts of breach of probation order and will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Female Charged on Outstanding Warrants

A 25 year old female will be appearing in bail court this morning. City Police attended at 43 Crawford Avenue early this morning and arrested Darlynn Blackbird of that address for outstanding warrants. She has been charged with 1 count of failing to appear for prints and 2 counts for failing to appear for court. She will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Five People Charged with Paintball Incident

5 people have been arrested in regards to a paintball incident. It is believed that the individuals while in a vehicle were driving around town firing off paintballs with a sling shot. A male who was outside of a local downtown establishment was assaulted when he was struck by a paint ball in the face. Police were called and the vehicle was stopped on Second Line West just before 2 am this morning. 18 year old Chris David Cucullo of 987 North Street and 18 year old Lou Slavatory Greco of 218 Strand Street have each been charged with 1 count of assault with a weapon and will be appearing in court on the 30th of July. 3 other youths who are 17 years of age and may not be identified because of their age have also been charged each with 1 count of assault with a weapon and will be appearing in court on the 31st of July. The victim in this incident did not require medical attention.
