Officers from Patrol Services are working on a number of break and enters that occurred overnight.

The following residential areas were broken into:

  • A shed was broken into in the 1400 block of Queen Street East overnight and a bicycle was removed but left at the residence
  • Two sheds were broken into the 1400 block of Queen Street East but nothing was taken
  • A garage and shed were entered in the 1200 block of Queen Street East was entered.  It is unknown what was taken
  • A garage in the 1500 block of Queen Street East was broken into. Alcohol and sports equipment were taken
  • A residence on Murphy Street was entered overnight and a wallet was taken

In addition several businesses were also broken into:

  • Scissors Hairstyling on Queen Street East was broken into.  An undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery were taken
  • La Belle Donna Hair Studio on Wellington Street West was broken into overnight.  Curling irons and an undisclosed amount of money were taken
  • Beach Bound Suntanning on Queen Street East was broken into overnight.  Various hair products and chocolate were also taken.

As well several vehicles were broken into overnight:

  • Vehicles were entered on Hearst Street.  Two ipods and Pampered Chef cooking items were taken
  • A vehicle in the 1200 block of Queen Street East was also entered. It is unknown at this time what was taken
  • A vehicle in the 1400 block of Queen Street East was entered and a duffle bag was taken.  Officers were able to locate the property and return it to the owner
  • A vehicle in Trelawne Avenue was also entered and a wallet and iphone were taken

Arrest:

23-year old Brooklynn Armstrong of 2-278 Sixth Avenue was arrested this afternoon on an outstanding warrant.  It is alleged that the accused failed to appear for prints in relation to a theft charge.  She will appear in court on July 28th.

Morning news

Yesterday afternoon a homeowner in the 300 block of Gillies Street reported a break and enter that is believed to have occurred over the weekend. Items taken include alcohol and a table saw.

At approximately 4 a.m. this morning, a home owner on McMeeken Street called 911 to report two suspicious males in her yard. Officers attended in the area and located a male in a driveway of a home in the 1200 block of Queen Street East. Officers determined the male had no authority to be on the property and he was subsequently arrested. It is alleged that the male then resisted officers by trying to pull away from the officers and flailing around while they were handcuffing him. Once in custody, the accused allegedly threatened to kill one of the police officers. 19-year-old Ryan McLeish of Pim Street will be appearing in bail court this morning. He has been charged with one count of trespass by night, one count of resist arrest and one count of threaten to cause death. 

On June 24, 2014 at 7:30 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged 26-year-old male with mischief. Officers had attended a residence yesterday and learned that the male had thrown a chair threw his ex-girlfriends window following a domestic argument. The male will appear in court on June 25.  

In another domestic related incident, patrol officers arrested and charged a 34-year-old male with assault. Officers had learned from his girlfriend that on June 14 he had allegedly pushed her. She was not injured in the assault. He will appear in court on June 25.

On June 24, 2014 at 10 p.m., patrol officers arrested and charged a 46-year-old female with assault with a weapon. The accused is alleged to have struck an adult relative of hers with a small pipe like object. The victim received minor injuries in the assault. The accused will appear in court on July 28.
