MAN ASSAULTS EX-GIRLFRIEND
On the afternoon of July 13, the accused, a 44-year-old male was at a residence in the city's west end, where the victim, his ex-girlfriend lived.
While there the accused, who had been drinking, began arguing with the victim. This argument allegedly escalated to assault when the accused threw the victim to the floor. The accused also punched the victim in the face and then got on top of her and hit her some more.
The victim received a cut to her lower lip, a swollen right eye, a cut on her right hand and soreness in her left hand. When patrol officers arrived at the residence, the accused was gone.
A police records check revealed that he was on an recognizance with a condition not to go to the victim's residence, not to molest, harass or annoy her, not to have any alcohol and also to keep the peace and be good.
Yesterday at 11:50 a.m. the accused turned himself in at the Police Services Building and was arrested and charged with Assault and three counts of Breach Of Recognizance. He will appear in bail court today.
MULTIPLE CHARGES FOR INTOXICATED YOUTH
Yesterday patrol officers were called to an Allard Street address for a disturbance. Upon their arrival, the officers observed the accused getting into the back of a vehicle.
The accused, a 17-year-old male, was intoxicated by the consumption of liquor. A police records check revealed he was on probation with a curfew to be in his residence from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am.
The officers arrested and charged him with Breach of Probation and returned him to his residence. The youth was also charged with a liquor licence offence. He will appear in youth court in late August.
BREAK & ENTER AT DOMTAR
Yesterday morning at shortly after 7:00 am, police officers were called to a break-in at the Domtar Saw Mill.
Officers learned that on or about the 15th of July, between midnight and 5:00 a.m., a building at the Domtar Saw Mill, 45 Third Line West, was entered.
Once inside the thieves entered several equipment and tool cages and stole a Sears Limited Edition Craftsman socket set in a gray case, a Uvex Optrel Mira Plus welding helmet that is solar powered for the automatic darkening of the glass in it and two Motorola Mobile Radios, Model #P1225, with chargers.
