On January 1, 2016 at 1 a.m., officers responded to a fight in progress at a residence on Biggings Avenue. Early investigation indicated that one of the parties involved in the fight had been stabbed.

On January 1, 2016 at 1 a.m., officers responded to a fight in progress at a residence on Biggings Avenue. Early investigation indicated that one of the parties involved in the fight had been stabbed.

EMS responded to the scene with police and a 26-year-old male was found with stab wounds to his upper body. The victim was transported to the Sault Area Hospital where he was treated for his injuries which were later determined to be non-life threatening. The victim has since been released from hospital.

Officers from Investigation Services were assigned to the case and on January 5, 21-year-old Cole Speers of no fixed address was arrested and charged with attempted murder. The accused will appear in bail court on January 6.

On January 5, 2016 at 4pm 23 year old Courtney Wabigwan of McNabb St turned herself in at the Police Station. The accused was wanted on a warrant for theft under $5,000. The accused will appear in court on February 1.

Sometime between January 3 and January 5 a residence on Irwin Street was broken into. Unknown culprits kicked in the back door and stole two power saws.
