A 23-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after City Police attended at a central area residence for a domestic dispute around 1:30 am this morning. It is alleged that the male assaulted his common law girlfriend by slapping her in the face and pushing her. The victim did not require medical treatment and the accused has been charged with one count of assault.

Youth Charged with Theft

Yesterday afternoon City Police arrested a 16-year old young person for stealing a bottle of vodka from the LCBO in the Station Mall. When arrested for the theft the young person provided officers with a false name. Officers were able to determine the youth’s real name. The youth has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of obstruct police and will appear in court on March 1st.

Male Charged with Assault

Last evening City Police attended at downtown residence for a domestic dispute. It is alleged that a 30-year old male assaulted his estranged girlfriend by shoving her. The accused also made a threat to harm the victim’s teenage child. The victim did not receive any injuries. The male has been charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. The accused will appear in court on February 28th.

City Police investigated 4 motor vehicle collisions in the last 24-hour period. There were no injuries, no charges laid and minimal damage.

Break and Enter

City Police received 2 reports of break and enters yesterday. In the morning officers attended at the Kinsmen Hall on Landslide Road at the Kinsmen Park for a break and enter to the building. Thieves made off with a stereo and some chocolate bars. Yesterday afternoon a home was broken into in the 100 block of Pageant Drive. Thieves made off with jewellery, an X-box, 2 play stations, a DVD player, and a digital camera. If you know who is responsible for these break and enters, call Crime Stoppers or City Police.
